Summary[]

Homecoming is just around the corner and people are starting to scramble for dates. Danielle has to choose between the three guys she has her eye on and Sadie is trying to reel in Tim as her date, but his past memories might come between that. Meanwhile, it's Jeremy's turn to doubt his relationship with Jamie

Main Plot[]

After things go sour between Danielle and Brad, the field is open for her homecoming date. Too bad three guys are going after her and she likes all three guys.

Sub Plot[]

Tim wants to skip homecoming altogether, but Sadie hopes she can change that.

Third Plot[]

Jamie is ready to take the next step with Jeremy and start to date, but now he's the one who isn't ready.

  • Isaac is mentioned to have dated a girl named Melanie, but this is the only mention of this in the entire series.
  • It is inferred that Eric told Brad to dump Danielle so that he could ask her out, and this seems very out of character for Eric, who otherwise is very caring to his friends, and would never sabotage their relationships like this. Although, in the first season, Eric's character is not fully fleshed out and he goes through a lot of development during the second and third seasons, so this action could simply be seen as immaturity.
  • Sadie's crush on Jeremy from the pilot is mentioned, as well as a crush she had on Isaac at one point, which is new information to the audience.
  • Eric's crush on Danielle does not last longer than this episode and is never mentioned by either party again, who become extremely close platonic friends for the entire duration of the series.
  • Danielle's immaturity during the first season is on full display in this episode where she comes off as extremely boy-crazy and inconsiderate. This is a vast difference from her character in later seasons, who doesn't bother with boys for many seasons.
  • Sadie's extreme manipulation and guilt tripping is first seen in this episode, but becomes much more prevalent and detailed later in this season and for the remainder of her character's arc.
  • This is the first episode that shows Danielle and Scott are good friends. This friendship later becomes one of the longest-lasting, healthy, and developed friendships in the entire series.
  • This episode is the first time we see Tim use alcohol to deal with his emotions. Throughout the second season this spirals into full-on alcoholism.

  • The title of this episode, named after the song "You Da One" by Rihanna, relates to the theme of the song, which is about there being one person you can't get your mind off of and who is made for you. This relates to all three storylines of the episode, which have to do with love and relationships coming together and breaking apart right before homecoming.
