Peyton Valentine is a Graduate of Clearwater High School in the Class of 2016, and recurring character in the third season of Clearwater. She later becomes a main character in the fourth season. She was sold to sex slavery by her mother as a child and saved by Alexander Mansfield who she assisted in conning across the country. She currently lives with Danielle and Mary-Beth Hooper after sending Alex to prison after he tried conning them, making this the first time she's lived a normal life and has true friends and family. Peyton is reckless, sassy, and has an abrasive attitude. She is also a skilled musician who plays the violin and is interested in art. She is a free-spirit who doesn't follow society's norms and has no intentions to, not caring what anybody thinks about her. She was also a part of Danielle's band, Rave Repellent where she got close to Abby before her death.

In the fifth season, she is kicked out of the Hooper household after her involvement in Clearwater Secrets is revealed, which leads her to finding her abusive ex-boyfriend Maverick. After almost falling back into his trap, she goes back to living with Danielle. She tries to stop Moon from dating him the following season, but to no avail. Also in the sixth season, her mother returns to find her, but ends up being Alex's girlfriend from jail seeking vengeance for her turning on him. In a fight, Peyton is forced to kill the woman, leaving her very emotionally fragile. It is also discovered by the state that she is an orphan and is sent to a group home.

Peyton's life takes a turn in the seventh season when she bonds with the kids at the group home with her, and even dates one of them. She also strays further from the Hooper's as Danielle spirals into a cocaine addiction and Mary-Beth assumes Danielle's cocaine is Peyton's due to her past. After her family's life is almost taken in a fire on Thanksgiving, she realizes how much they mean to her and mends her relationships with them. She also starts to date her long-time friend Eric Stem, driving a wedge between her and Angel. In the final season, her former father figure, Alex, returns, out of jail and needing her help to get back on his feet. He pulls her back into his life of crime as she tries to help him, and this puts a wedge between her and Eric. After they both are almost killed due to their participation in helping Alex, they break up, realizing that life is taking them into different directions. She departs for Seattle with Scott and Dex, ready to start her art career and start fresh in a new town.

She is best friends with Danielle and Angel O'Brian and is also good friends with Lana Davis, Scott Taylor, Ethan Webber, Eric Stem, Dex Smith, and Sophie Clark. She is enemies with her ex-boyfriend, Maverick Zephite who was extremely abusive to her. She was portrayed by Kathryn Prescott.

Season 3[]

In Dark Horse (2), she is at Danielle's house with her father for a surprise dinner so that Danielle can meet them. When Danielle comes home after an awful day of getting drunk, getting into a fight, and losing her best friend, she is a mess and is shocked to see her mother has company. Peyton starts making smart remarks about Danielle's condition and compares her to Lindsay Lohan, finding the situation funny while her father is unamused.

In Forget Forever (1), she and her father arrive at Danielle's house for Thanksgiving and is given the tradition of lighting the dinner candles, something Danielle has done for years. They then sit down at the table and begin to eat. Alex tells Peyton that they have news and Peyton asks if they're getting married already, which he says no and that they are moving to Clearwater so he can be closer to Mary-Beth. He tells Peyton that she is now going to attend Clearwater High, which upsets Danielle even more. After Peyton brings up Danielle sleeping with her teacher, Danielle has enough and storms out of the house.

In Forget Forever (2), Danielle sneaks back into the house and sees Peyton washing dishes. Danielle calls for a truce between the two and Peyton says that they were never in a war and that they can just be nice to each other, saying that everything doesn't have to be so dramatic. Danielle agrees, but tells her that she's not showing her around the school which Peyton replies she wouldn't have let her do anyway. They both smile and Danielle leaves the kitchen.

In Pills N Potions, she is sitting in Angel's seat during her first day at Clearwater and tells her that there are plenty of other seats when Angel tells her that the seat is her's. She then tells Angel to introduce herself and does the same, commenting that Angel's name is a good girl name. Angel tells her that she almost went to DH last year for theft and possession which Peyton thinks is impressive, but asks about her record now. Angel tells her she's had a clean record since moving to Clearwater since it's no fun without people to do it with and Peyton asks for them to hang out after school. Angel is confused since they don't even know each other and Peyton says that's how you make friends, which Angel agrees to. They walk up to the skate park and Peyton starts to smoke. She asks Angel if she wants one, but says she's not going to peer pressure her. Angel takes one and they sit down. Jarrod and Blake take interest in them and she asks them if they know how to get pot. Jarrod tells her that he'll give her some if she kisses him, which she does. They ask Angel the same and Peyton tells them that she's a good girl now and won't do it, but Angel surprises them by making out with Blake and grabbing his junk. She gets pot as well and Peyton applauds her.

At school the next day, they are walking together in the hall wearing revealing outfits and grabbing the attention of Angel's friends, mostly Danielle, who are worried about her hanging out with Peyton. They later go to the mall instead of going to French class and Peyton tells Angel to steal an expensive sweater she likes. Angel tells her that she used to be the master of theft and Peyton wants her to prove it. While Angel tries on the sweater, Peyton is looking at jewelry and putting it in Angel's purse to steal. When a tag on one of the pieces of jewelry sets off the censor and Angel's theft is exposed to the police, Peyton acts shocked that Angel stole the things and doesn't take blame for the jewelry that got Angel busted, letting her go off with the cops in handcuffs.

In I Know You Care, Peyton sees Danielle at the mall and knows that Angel is with her, asking if she's in the dressing room. Angel refuses to come out and speak to her, so Peyton tells her from outside that she felt bad for getting her busted and gives her $50 to help pay for the fine, since it was her fault. She apologizes and tells Danielle that she'll see her around before walking off. She is later seen looking at Angel's rental car and saying it's good for a rental. She is shocked when Olivia comes up and steals the car and crashes it. She comforts Angel and asks about how Olivia is when everyone is worried about the car.

In Internet Killed the Video Star, she comes and sits by Danielle and Alicia and hears about Danielle's art show. She asks if she can set up a display and Danielle tells her that she can. When Danielle and Brad are setting up, she walks in and sees them moving a heavy sculpture. She tries to run an idea by Danielle that she is excited about, but Danielle tells her that she doesn't have time to hear about it and says that whatever it is, it should be fine. Peyton makes sure again before leaving. During the show, she comes out and starts throwing paint all over the other displays along with some other people. This enrages Danielle since her father is there to see her show, but when he loves what Peyton did, Danielle forgives her. Peyton explains that it was only half to make a social statement and the other half was to get in trouble so that she would get attention from her dad. She then sees Mr. Hanson's face when he sees the paint everywhere and says that she'll get extra attention since she's going to be in big trouble.

Season 4[]

In Find You, Peyton is at work and sees Sophie storming out of the store, bumping into her. Peyton asks her if she's Danielle's friend and Sophie says she is and to tell her boss to fuck off. Sophie continues to angrily walk off as Peyton looks confused. She later sees Sophie at the Hub and asks her if they can talk. Sophie tells her that she can get her boss fired for discrimination after he didn't hire her because of her sexuality. Peyton then explains that her sexuality wasn't the reason he didn't hire her and that he didn't because he's Dex Smith's father and is still mad she messed up his son after they dated. She tells Sophie that he's in the wrong, but he's been messed up ever since his other son's death and to cut him some slack. Sophie tells her she won't press charges because she doesn't have the energy and walks out.

In Know Your Enemy, Danielle and Peyton walk up to Jamie who is back from rehab and she snaps at Danielle after she welcome her back, saying she just wants some space. Peyton is annoyed by this and comments how Danielle told her she was nice.

In Heaven Knows, Angel enlists Peyton's help to assist her in removing all of the drugs from Jarrod's basement after being blackmailed by the gang. After they get the drugs out and get back into Peyton's car, Peyton is slightly worried someone might have seen them and asks what they do with the drugs now. Angel tells her that she will take them back to her place and get rid of them, but Peyton warns her to make sure no one sees. Angel thanks her for helping and Peyton tells her they're even now after Peyton got Angel probation in the past. Peyton tells her that she's not a slave to the gang and she doesn't have to do anything they say after they get rid of the evidence against her. Angel continues to worry that she'll go to jail like Abby did, but Peyton ensures her she won't and tells her not to stress and freak out all the time.

In Bad Blood, Danielle and her mother are doing their daily ritual of doing their lipstick in the mirror when Peyton and Alex budge their way in. After their parents leave, Danielle comments to Peyton that all good things must come to an end, referencing her and her mom's lipstick routine. Peyton tells her she'll just take her mother's spot and Danielle pokes fun at her Walgreen's lip gloss. Peyton playfully shoves her and says they can't all afford Chanel, the girls now visibly much more comfortable around each other. Danielle tells her Chanel doesn't make lip gloss, which Peyton says shows how much she knows about makeup. Danielle learns from her mom that Alex is going to drive them to school and sees Danielle roll her eyes, which Peyton attests to his road rage. She is seen in the car with them as Alex shows he knows nothing about Danielle's life.

After Danielle's mom asks her to hang out one-on-one with Peyton's dad, Danielle calls Peyton and asks her if her dad has asked her to hang out with Danielle's mom. Peyton says that he has a few times, and Danielle says this means they're going to get engaged soon. Peyton isn't so sure, and just wants to go with whatever makes them happy.

Peyton walks in the Hub the next day and sees Danielle with a bruised face, asking who she beat up. Danielle informs her that Peyton's dad hit her. Peyton is shocked and tells her he's never done this before and maybe he was just drunk. Peyton wants to make sure Danielle isn't going to tell anyone, but Danielle says she can't let this slide. Peyton gets upset and tells her not to tell her mom, because it'll ruin everything and then storms out of the Hub. That night, Peyton and her dad come down the stairs to see Danielle about to leave with her dad, and Peyton is sad that Danielle told her mom. When Danielle's dad hits her's, Peyton is distressed and screams for him to stop. As Danielle leaves, Mary-Beth asks Peyton and Alex for some privacy, and Peyton leaves, but looks very upset still.

In Glory and Gore, Peyton and Danielle are seen walking through the hall and see Dex spying on someone who he says is his girlfriend. Peyton asks who he's dating and when he says Eliza Bell, Peyton mentions she's heard some not nice things about her. Before she can explain what, Danielle sees that this could go bad and pulls Peyton away.

In With Every Heartbeat, Peyton is talking with Keith when Scott comes up looking for Keith's advice whether someone he knows is dangerous. When Keith refuses to help him, Peyton tells Scott she's known some bad guys and has some experience with background checks and can help him. Scott gives Peyton the name and she tells him this is his birthday gift and wishes him happy birthday before going to look the guy up.

In Call Me When You're Sober, Peyton and Danielle are talking quietly in class as Abby walks in. After she asks them what they're talking about, Peyton tells her that there's an open mic night at the Hub and the winner gets a dance for their school. Danielle asks Abby if she wants to join them and bring back Rave Repellent. Peyton explains that she can remix one of their old songs and with her on guitar and Abby on piano, they could make it work. Peyton is very excited to hear Abby say she's in and the three girls put their hands together to solidify their band.

The girls are later practicing their song in the music room and after they finish, Peyton states that there's something wrong if they don't win this contest. After Harley comes in and Danielle shuts her down when she tries to join the band, Peyton laughs at how Danielle told her off and comments that they have so many ideas as a group, they might be able to make a whole album. Abby comments that she might not be in Clearwater for that long since Eric wants to leave due to the gang still being after them, which Peyton is surprised to hear is still happening. They then get back to practicing. Later on, they play their song at the Hub and while Danielle isn't sure they're winning because of Matt's performance, Peyton assures her that he only had a guitar and they had so much more. She also asks Abby if she's called Eric when he doesn't show up for their performance. After they find out they won, Peyton joins her bandmates back on stage and they bow as everyone cheers for them.

In Elastic Heart, Peyton is at auditions that Rave Repellent is having for a backup singer and tells Candace that this isn't American Idol and to get on with her audition when she tries being extra about it. After she bombs the audition, Candace is confused and tells the girls that many people have told her she has a good voice, and Peyton tells her that they were lying to her. Later, before they play in front of the whole school, Ethan and Sophie tell Peyton and the rest of the band that Candace plans to dump water on them during their performance to get them back for not letting her in the band. This annoys Peyton greatly, who asks if they're in third grade acting like this. While Principal Hanson is introducing them, they trip Candace and have her fall into the cake for the band and Peyton pretends like it is an accident, but looks very pleased.

In Bed of Lies, Peyton warns Sophie and Danielle that a teacher is on their way to see what is going on when their plot fails and Sophie is seen with a bunch of needles.

In Ain't No Rest For the Wicked (1), Peyton joins Danielle and Abby as they look to see how the dance they won is coming along two days before it is scheduled. Peyton comments that she thinks it look awesome and then listens to Principal Hanson as he asks them to perform a few songs during the dance. Peyton joins Danielle the next day as Danielle asks if Abby and Eric are on good terms again and is excited when she hears he spent the night with Abby, telling her to get it. Peyton starts to get worried when Abby is doesn't say yes to one last band practice before the dance and is concerned to hear Abby and Eric are leaving that night. She asks where and Abby tells her she's not sure, but they have to get away from the gang or they might end up dead, which Peyton doesn't find fair. Danielle tries to tell her to talk to the gang members, but Peyton agrees with Abby and says that those kinds of guys kill people for sport and will do it very easily. Peyton asks if she'll ever be back, and Abby tells her maybe in a year or two once everything is forgotten. Peyton asks her if she can stay for one more day and perform at the dance as a goodbye, telling her she knows a lot about this stuff and won't let anything happen to her during that time. They manage to convince Abby and Peyton is very excited to play together one last time and hugs both Abby and Danielle. Peyton then asks Abby if Eric is going to be okay with staying another day, which Abby is unsure about.

In Ain't No Rest For the Wicked (2), Peyton, along with Olivia and Danielle, approach Abby and Eric on the day of the dance and their last day in Clearwater. She is disappointed to hear that Olivia can't make the dance and later joins Abby, Danielle, Angel, and Sophie to get ready before the dance. Thanking Mary-Beth when she compliments them on how good they look. Danielle and Abby start getting emotional about Abby leaving soon, which confuses Sophie. Peyton distracts Sophie and takes her to freshen up once more so that Danielle and Abby can have a moment alone.

At the dance, the band plays and everyone goes nuts for them. Once their set is over, they meet Eric backstage and Peyton and Danielle talk about how great they did. Peyton then tells Danielle that they should leave Abby and Eric alone and go and join the dance. Later on, Peyton and Danielle reunite with Abby before she leaves and Peyton comments that Abby earned this dance and should be able to stay for the whole thing, but Abby tells them they have to leave. Abby tells them to keep the band going without her, and Peyton tells her that they will keep her legacy going as they leave. Peyton and Danielle go to the bathroom discussing how hard it was to say goodbye to Abby, with Peyton commenting that she didn't even know Abby for as long as Danielle. They then catch Alicia purging, which makes Peyton very worried.

In Mad World, Peyton is at Bubble with Angel days after Abby's death and is shocked by how much coffee Angel is drinking. Angel explains that she hasn't slept since Abby's death, which shocks Peyton. Angel breaks down about how she thinks Abby died because of her and starts to cry, so Peyton comforts her and tells her to cut the coffee because she is shaking. Angel breaks down about how Abby paid for her mistakes, and asks how she can go on knowing this. Peyton explains that the world just works out that way sometimes, and Abby wouldn't want Angel beating herself up for the rest of her life. She tells Angel that she needs to sleep and when Angel tells her she can't, she suggests she try sleeping pills. Angel is confused, thinking she needs a sleeping pill, but Peyton says she shouldn't wait for a prescription and just looking at her is prescription enough. She assures Angel they will help her sleep and that after a good eight hours, everything will be okay, squeezing her hand.

She later answers a call from Angel who says her idea sucked. Peyton asks if she took the pills and slept, which Angel says yes to. Peyton asks what the problem is then, and Angel explains she is sick and shaky, which Peyton attributes to the side effects, assuring her they'll be gone by the end of the day and that it's great she didn't have any more bad dreams. Angel finally comes around, saying the pills are great, which makes Peyton happy and less worried for her friend.

She later is in class with Angel and asks how she feels. Angel tells her that she feels rejuvenated and the side effects are all gone. Peyton is happy and tells her she got her something as she pulls out a bag filled with sleeping pills, shocking Angel, who asks where she got them. Peyton tells her not to worry about it, and just keep getting good sleep. Angel thanks her and Peyton jokes that getting illegal prescription drugs is what friends are for and that she just wants Angel to be okay, which Angel is sure is going to happen now.

In Glitter in the Air, Peyton and her friends are judging the new girl, Lana, with Peyton appalled by her outfit. She comments that she's slutting herself out already and is disappointed in women today. After Lana crosses Danielle, Peyton accompanies her as Danielle and Lana get into an argument at the Hub.
